Media Summer
In fairness, my summer didn't consist of many mediums. However there were a few moments that happened during the summer, that without different media institutions and inventions, wouldn't of been the same.
There was a couple events that took place in Southgate, located in the North London borough Enfiled. Recent events that have occurred in the capital have highlighted certain areas as places to avoid, with large parts of Southgate being one of those. Many different online news articles provided us with different information, each with a different interpretation of the area. Some spoke of the dangers, others spoke of the change and over-exaggeration of the problem. Overall the whole experience taught me that different form of media, whether that's social media or online news, they each have there own interpretation, showing how easy is it is cast your opinion on something using media.
Along with a few friends, one day we decided to go visit the cinema. However there was great debate before as to why would we ACTUALLY go to the cinema, when you can easily view any film in your own home, thanks to the vast improvements that have occurred in media over the past decade or so. Thanks to the new mass wave of media inventions, people an easily save money, saving from the extortionate prices of the cinema. With all the new media inventions, nowadays there isn't as much need for older, perhaps outdated features, such as cinema or even cameras.

Interesting comments on the cinema - don't you think that viewing a film on the big screen has far more impact than watching it at home? There's something communal about being at the cinema - reacting to moments as other people react - not to mention the amazing sound quality and visual impact that cinema provides.
