Magazine Comparison.

Despite both these magazines both targeting different audiences, they both have the traditional magazine aspects. Both have a bold Masthead, located at the top of the page to signify to the audience what the magazine actually is. Both include the Feature Article in the biggest, boldest font to really stand out amongst the page, showing the reader what exactly is the main feature of the magazine. Cover Lines running along the side of both of the magazines give information to the reader about the other articles that are included in the magazine.

The colour scheme on the magazine are different, but both fit forth genre they are written for. XXL is a very sleek design, with colourful colour to represent the freedom and feeling associated with Kendrick Lamar's music. Blues has a much darker, deeper colours, linking in with the style of music they are designed for.

The main image of the magazine attracts the audience to cop the product, as it will give them a sense of association and fondness, especially if its a person/thing that they are a certain feeling/emotion associated with said photo.

The double page spread of each magazine follows the appropriate conventions you'd expect to see from a magazine double spread, but with each adapting it to relate to there specific audience. XXL keeps it intertwined with the front cover, showing that to best sell a magazine, you need to ensure that there is a constant theme throughout the magazine.

The layout of the Blues double page spread gives a more chilling feeling than the XXL double page spread. This is because they are completely different genres of music, aiming at two different people and portraying different feelings and emotions.
